Cruise ships in Stockholm will soon connect to onshore power

The largest RoRo vessels can call at Stockholm Norvik
The RoRo terminal at Stockholm Norvik Port has two quay-berths for RoRo ships. Both quay-berths are equipped with robust ramps with dimensions to fulfil the needs of the future, both in terms of size and capacity. There is space here to accommodate the very largest RoRo vessels.

EU awards funding to Kapellskär-Naantali Maritime Bridge environmental initiative
Port of Kapellskär, together with Port of Naantali, has been granted EU funding to reduce, among other things, air pollutant emissions from shipping. The funding also augments the investments made by Ports of Stockholm to meet service demands of customers and future needs.

Four new calls each week at Port of Kapellskär
The position of Port of Kapellskär as one of Sweden’s most important freight ports was consolidated when DFDS introduced another vessel on the Kapellskär-Paldiski route. This means four new calls each week at the port.

Last stone is laid at Stockholm Norvik Port
The final area of paving is complete and Ports of Stockholm is preparing to open the final part, the RoRo terminal, of Stockholm Norvik Port. Sweden’s newest port now covers an area of 44 hectare.

Two cruise ships on a “Scenic Cruise” to Stockholm
On Monday 10th August the first two cruise ships of the season arrived at Ports of Stockholm. The vessels called at Stadsgården, Masthamnen and each remained at the quay for one hour. No passengers or crew disembarked.

Gasum opened a new shipping fuel station at Ports of Stockholm
Gasum’s new bunkering station for liquefied gas was taken into use in mid-June. The station is located at Port of Nynäshamn, Sweden on the premises of Ports of Stockholm. The new station includes new bunkering solutions enabling ships to bunker environmentally friendly fuel faster than ever.

Sweden’s newest freight port handled its first export of forestry products in mid-June. Stockholm Norvik Port, which opened in May, has the capacity and service capabilities to efficiently meet the goods transport needs of the Swedish export industry.

First train arrival at Stockholm Norvik Port
The first scheduled freight train has rolled into the new freight port, Stockholm Norvik Port, along the new industrial branch line. Ports of Stockholm constructed the railway line to provide greater sustainable transport possibilities and to increase the range of transport alternatives to and from the port.

Arrival of the first container ship at Stockholm Norvik Port
May 27th will be remembered in the history books as the day the very first container ship arrived at Sweden’s newest freight port, Stockholm Norvik Port. The Stockholm region accounts for half of Sweden’s entire consumption, and now the opportunities to transport goods by sea as close to their final destination as possible have increased.
